Monday Blah

I've neglected my blog for the last week or two. Maybe it is just because I have the January blues. Maybe it is because I'm tired of dreaming of the hunt and want to get out there. I don't want to write about the idea of a hunt. I want to write about new hunting adventures. Nothing is happening in that area right now for me. However, the good news is that we've almost made it through the first month of the year and the count down to Turkey season has begun.

Honestly, I've been busy with work and don't feel like sitting in front of the computer when I get home. However, I promise that I will be back to blogging soon. I've got a lot of things going on and have some great ideas for future posts. I'm still working on putting together some tips and tricks for fletching arrows. I may even piece together a video. I've got a few dozen arrows that are ready to be turned into something beautiful. So, please don't give up on me and stay tuned.

For now, I'm sending my love to all of my blogger friends. It is late on a Monday evening and I'm going to bed. I am happy to have made it through this post play-off Monday football blues. I survived an ugly football game yesterday filled with screaming, crying and cheering for my beloved home town football team. Better luck next time Vikes. SKOL!

Sportsman's Show Fun

Every January we make the trek to Denver to spend a Saturday afternoon walking around at the Sportsman's Show until our legs hurt so bad that we cry Uncle. We talk hunting. I dream of booking a dream hunt to New Zealand. I purchase a raffle ticket or two with the hopes of holding the golden ticket (I'm crossing my fingers for the sitka gear, or the 2 nights stay at Jackson Hole with the sleigh ride through the elk refuge would be okay too.) The trophy mounts on display are reviewed by all. And the Husband renews his subscription to Eastman's Bowhunting Journal. The list goes on...

Vehicles are drooled over.
(Every time I lost my husband, I could guarantee he would be next to the new 2010 Dodge Ram since he was sucked in like a moth to a light bulb every time he got close to that truck. However, he did say he would be buying it for me.)

"Fires" are made to warm our feet.

Various reading materials and other little treasures are collected.

Head butting contests are performed.

The wildlife is checked out.

And my Husband pouts when it is time to go home.
After a great weekend in Denver, we are at home enjoying breakfast for dinner. I love evening's like this. A little bacon and eggs in the evening is just about perfect. The new Eastman's bowhunting DVD has been watched already and I'm wishing the weekend wasn't over. It was a good, good couple of days.

Tuffy is Scared of the SteamVac

Since it is the beginning of a new year, I decided a cleaning spree in the midst of putting away Christmas decorations would be a good idea. As a result, the dogs got baths and the carpets got steam cleaned, much to Tuffy's dismay. You see... My lab runs and hides every time the vacuum is turned on. When the SteamVac comes alive, he runs for his life and finds a place that he feels safe.

I found him here when the bedroom was being cleaned:
(Normally the leather couch is off limits, but I let him stay here today.)
And here he is snuggled amongst the clean bedding when the family room carpets were being cleaned:
